Marcus W. Chamberlain 1847 – Sometime before 1920

Marcus W. Chamberlain was born in Sussex County New Jersey in 1847. He was the son of Maurice and Mary McCormick Chamberlain. Marcus grew up working on the family farm in Jefferson Township, Morris County New Jersey.  He married Sarah Lindsley in 1875. Marcus and Sarah had three children. In the 1880 census his occupation is listed as a Miller. He patents his first hay trolley design in 1884. He patented three hay trolley designs and one hay fork in total. He manufactured hay trolleys and hay forks from about 1885 to 1895. In the 1900 census he is listed as being a machinist. Sometime before 1910 he moved to Easton Pennsylvania and is listed as a Machinist in the 1910 census. He passes away sometime before 1920.
