Posted on March 3, 2016 Straight forward restoration. Chassis in really excellent shape. Most folks do not know that these units where used like a crane or derrick. The set-up would be seasonal and these would run right into the barn and put the hay into the mow. As such, we do not see many of them.
No breaks, cracks or missing pieces…with the exception of the close to impossible to find original center drop. We think we know what the right one looks like and a few have actually recast that unit. I opted to use a pulley that is the exact dimensions of the original, lock-up is perfect. May be some day!

Into the blaster everything goes…
What a difference, like new again and able to hold the right paint for a long long time.
Two part primer is the base..

Final paint was a very light old corn flower yellow..
Now, we are soooo glad to have all the photos! Things are correct when the retaining arm locks up the gears set on full lock-up…done!
