This is the trolley my dad recovered from my grandfather’s barn. He bought the farm in 1945. I am still debating whether I’m going to do preservation or restoration since two of the beam wheels were down in mud and they are very bad condition. After 4 days in electrolysis tub I see remenents of blue or blue-gray paint. I am curious if there is a way to tell how old this trolley is approximently?

MY GUESS IS AFTER 1902. PATENT 1885 + 17 years = 1902. HH&F STARTED THE NON LOGO VERSIONS AFTER THE PATENT RAN OUT. MOST RESELLERS AND CATALOG HOUSES DID NOT WANT THE MANUFACTURES NAME ON THE TROLLEY, LESS THE BUYER MIGHT GO DIRECT TO MANUFACTURER TO BUY THE PRODUCT. HH&F RETOOLED THERE PRODUCT LINE ABOUT 1910, MOVING AWAY FROM THIS DESIGN. SO 1902-1910 IS MY EDUCATED GUESS AT THE AGE OF YOUR TROLLEY.
